FreeTALK 1.3 - Public Release

November 8, 2001

IMPORTANT: FreeTALK commands/features require card to be unlocked
           and backdoor open.

It is presumed that you use unlocked card. If you are uncertain use
the X command to check. If it reports the backdoor is closed then you
must re-enable if possible (this is usually not possible yet but some
dealers charge to re-open). If you cannot dump or card or write using
the A command then you are out of luck.

FreeTALK is meant for private use only. Please do not make money off of
this program. We NEVER have and NEVER WILL ask for money or silly paypal
donations - we think this is tacky but if you want to donate something
and your money is burning a hole in your pocket we suggest that you donate
to a more just cause - for example: the victims of the Sept 11 attack.

New in 1.3
==========

Command W
---------
Dumps backdoor key and uses backdoor method to write and
therefore is more reliable than previous overflow method.

No more manual datapointers or locations to worry about.
Your dataarea can be wherever you wish and it puts the
cardinfo in correctly.

Writes all cardinfo - ZIP/TZ, Ird No and BoxKey in just one packet!

Different technology used to make this possible. No other
programs that we know of do it this way - maybe they
will learn and implement to make theirs better too.

Works with one rom2 system and four rom3 systems. More
can be supported.

Command V
---------
Verifies a NEx file.
Dumps the CAM using overflow method and compares it
with a NEx file you choose.

Additions to NEE were required because in way some NEE are
made. If bugcatchers are set to 00 at beginning, and another
value set at end of NEE, then of course there will be verify
error on first bugcatcher line. To prevent this you can make
lines of NEE file skip this verification. To do this put a flag 'V0'
on blank line(s) preceding lines to ignore. A flag 'V1' on blank line
turns verification back on for all remaining lines. You can have
as many lines surrounded by these V0/V1 as you wish.

Note that this does not verify the entire card as ok, it simply
compares a NEE file to a dump. It is mainly for troubleshooting and
there should be no need to use regularly.

Command D
---------
The automatic NEE creation sets V0/V1 flags to make resulting NEE file
work with verify command and not report false errors.

When dumping full CAM it now uses the data area pointer in
the calculation for getting cardinfo.

Command E
---------
Write Key0/Key1 using backdoor
Same technology as W command - does not matter where data area is and
no write locations are hardcoded.

Works with rom2 and rom3 like command W.

Misc
----
- removed command O because the disabled that exploit/method long ago.
- removed the commercial E3M disables (use old FreeTALK if needed)
- removed command R - commercial E3M read cardinfo.
